Originally named the National Community Safety Network (NCSN) the ICS was created in 1995 and gathered over 500 members and organisations in both the statutory and voluntary sectors in the UK. It was incorporated in 2002.

It is a practitioner-led organisation supporting those involved in promoting community safety and crime reduction throughout the United Kingdom.
In 2015 the NCSN evolved to become the ICS.
All of our courses are offered as in-person (classroom) training, online training, or a combination of both depending on our client's and our students' needs (see our training pages).
With a board of Trustee Directors and professional associates comprising experienced community safety/ protective security practitioners and academics, with links into practitioners in Crime Reduction, Protective Security and Private Investigation across the UK and overseas, the ICS is best placed to provide the necessary tools to support you in your role.
