Steve has been involved with the Institute of Community Safety (ICS) [formerly the NCSN] for about 10 years, He has been a member of he N8 Policing Research Partnership Advisory Board for 4 years. He was previously the founder and CEO of a BTEC ASB education provider and prior to that Director of Education for an education provider based in the University of Canterbury.
He was the Senior ICT Account Manger for Her Majesty's Prison Service. He has been a leading consultant for a consortium of suppliers providing the private and public sectors state of the art public interface multi-media Portals and Antisocial Behaviour casework implementation projects.
In May 2009 he undertook business analysis needs project in Romania as part of the PHARE project as an independent ‘Expert’ assessing the Intelligence and Analysis’ section analysing business benefits realisation and associated training needs.
In 2008, in the Cayman Islands, he worked as a senior independent consultant for the FCO and then the Cayman Islands National Roads Authority. Steve was part of the National Police Improvement Agency as the national training lead on e-Policing and the National Police Portal. He was formerly the Branch Commander of the Flying Squad Central London.

John Strutton is the current Chair of the UK Institute of Community Safety, and is also the Senior Crime Reduction & Operational Security Manager for Transport for London, with responsibility for community safety, crime reduction, crime prevention
John is the Chair, Managing Director and Trustee of The Institute of Community Safety.
John Strutton is the current Chair of the UK Institute of Community Safety, and is also the Senior Crime Reduction & Operational Security Manager for Transport for London, with responsibility for community safety, crime reduction, crime prevention through environmental design, problem solving delivery and operational security across the transport modes and 570kms of road network covered by TfL. In his role John has also delivered restorative justice programmes, in-house training in basic crime prevention & problem solving, and has developed specialisms in dealing with issues as diverse as graffiti reduction, transport-related theft and urban explorer trespass. John developed TfL’s original ASBO application process and used that experience to create a partnership CBO application process currently used to obtain orders for the Roads & Transport Policing Command of the MPS as a part of a broader “offender management” remit.
Before joining TfL John held senior positions in local government, including Head of Community Safety for the City of Westminster, and Head of Estate Safety & Risk Management in the London Borough of Hackney. In both of these roles John developed and delivered crime reduction/prevention processes and community safety strategies.
A UK Home Office-qualified Crime Prevention Officer and Architectural Liaison Specialist, John is also a Director on the board of the UK Design-Out Crime Association (DOCA), and is an adviser to the British Standards Institute and Comite European de Normalisation (CEN) on the design of transport locations. He is also a former director of Westminster Victim Support.

Tim has an international reputation in the area of Designing and Managing Out Crime. His work, which has been carried out with a number of bodies including community groups of all types, police forces, local authorities, government departments, businesses etc. has resulted in a publication record which has added to the understanding of community safety problems and solutions. He regularly chairs and presents at conferences and seminars worldwide.
Tim is a Director of: Catalyst In Communities; Community Coaching Academy; Griffin Research and Consultancy; the International CPTED Association and the Institute of Community Safety. He is a Fellow of the RSA
He sits on the Advisory Board of the Design Against Crime Centre, University of the Arts London; is Advisor to Through Unity a charity for homicide victims families and a trustee for the Hope Programme a charity supporting victims of sexual violence
