A 5 day course is part 1 covering the basic training necessary to understand why crime is committed, and how to "problem solve" crime & disorder issues.
Available as a stand-alone accredited award, or can lead to the Institute's EduQual-accredited Diploma in Crime Prevention & Counter Terrorism as Part 1.
This 5 day course is part 2 covering the development of an all-encompassing community safety professional - understanding the situational and environmental factors that influence crime & disorder, and how to apply the principles of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) to projects and public spaces.
This 6 day course is part 3 and covers: Understanding the concepts of Threat, Vulnerability and Risk Assessment in relation to the evolving terrorist threat; Understanding attack typology and assessing the appropriate and proportionate mitigations; Understanding Behavioural Assessment - The I. S.T.A.R.E.D. system. Completion of all three parts leads to the Diploma when chosen as the study route.
This one day course is specifically designed to provide public facing workers with an awareness of the effects of alcohol in a crime prevention context so that they can take steps to prevent drunkenness, which when not prevented has been identified as one of the the most significant cause of preventable crime.
